Asian-flavoured tempeh
Tempeh is made from fermented soy beans. It is a great source of protein and a natural source of beneficial phytoestrogens.
Tempeh can be added to soups, salads, sandwiches or wraps.
Ingredients:
1 block of tempeh (about 250g)
1 tbsp grape seed oil
1 1/2 tbsp tamari
1 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp red curry paste
Instructions:
1.slice the tempeh into cubes or strips
2.sauté tempeh in grape seed oil in a pan until browned – medium/high heat (about 5 minutes)
3.thoroughly mix tamari, dijon mustard, sesame oil, and red curry paste together in a small bowl
4.add tamari mixture to browned tempeh and toss until thoroughly coated
5.turn off heat and allow to sit for 2 minutes
Makes 3 servings.
Each serving provides 16g of protein.
